Abstract
This is an account of the first Australian record of the Blue Rock-Thrush Monticola solitarius, a male in first-winter plumage. The plumage was that of the far-eastern form M. s. philippensis but the extent of blue on the vent, belly and flanks indicated intermediacy with the subspecies pandoo.
