Abstract
This paper provides additional evidence and some new interpretation on the phenomenon of the use of vocal mimicry in a context suggestive of deception by the Regent Honeyeater Xanthomyza phrygia. The analysis includes a literature review on the subject of vocal mimicry and concludes that the way in which this species uses this behaviour is unusual if not unique.
