Nominate Subspecies of the Little Egret Egretta garzetta garzetta in Australian Territory

Abstract

In 2005 Little Egrets of the nominate subspecies Egretta garzetta garzetta were observed at Darwin, Northern Territory, and at Werribee, near Melbourne, Victoria. These occurrences, which we believe are the first for mainland Australia, are here documented.
