Abstract

Observations were made of discarded digestive organs of prey killed by the Powerful Owl Ninox strenua in the Sydney area, New South Wales. These remains appear to be a regular feature of Powerful Owl kills and this suggests that the biomass eaten by the Owl is less than currently thought. Possible reasons for the discarding of the remains are given.
