Abstract

A recent contribution on the subject of waterbirds in the Armidale district (Heron, 1970), which included some interesting wader sightings, has prompted the submission of these notes. This paper examines several aspects of waterbird populations in two wetland habitats near Armidale, on the Northern Tablelands of New South Wales. Aspects dealt with are: records of migrant waders; occurrences of species less common to the Northern Tablelands; population fluctuations in selected species; and breeding of selected species.
