Abstract
The Streaked Shearwater Calonectris leucomelas has only recently been added officially to the Australian list (van Tets 1978) and is generally regarded as a vagrant. This paper is a record of observations of this species in northern Australian waters during November and December 1980 when it was found to be widespread and locally common. Previous records are documented, its appearance and behaviour described, and its status in Australia discussed.
